RancUp

What is it?

When it comes to setting your own Fantasy Football Rankings, we take the typing, copying, and pasting out of the equation. With multiple ways to set your rankings, we have made it so everyone, expert or amateur, can set their own in just a few minutes. Throughout the season, you can track who the most accurate rankers are, and aggregate this data together to determine the most dependable sources of rankings.

About

Why?

Just like how the Stock Market can have analysts and experts, it’s the market demand that truly dictates where the value is. We wanted to implement a similar mentality to Fantasy Football. Let everyone’s eyes and gut be the true indicator for where players and teams should be ranked.

In addition to there being too much importance left on Fantasy Football Experts, we feel there’s an incredible lack of accountability. Whenever someone predicts how a player will do, there aren’t many options for backing those predictions up. So, we figured we’d tackle both issues with one solution. Give everyone the chance to set their own Rankings, whether it’s who you think will be the best QB in Week 11, the biggest disappointment, or the biggest surprise, set it and let’s see who’s right. With RancUp, everyone can not only get a better idea of what the consensus is for all of these questions, once the week is over we’ll be able to track who was actually right, and who unfortunately was wrong.

What's Next?

At this moment, our web application is a simple portal built with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for displaying and sharing rankings with users who do not have the mobile app installed. I was brought on to finish out the original web site linked above and rebuild it as an enterprise level application. After deployment of the website I was brought on to finish out, we saw nearly 60,000 visitors over the course of the 2021 fantasy football season.

We are now currently rebuilding RancUp.com in Next.js and Typescript with the goal of completely replicating all mobile features and introducing additional features such as anonymous consensus rankings, side by side rankings comparisons, and private tournaments. Currently, we are in the middleof building our login/registration system, UI Kit, and UI Design. Stay tuned to this page for more updates on our progress.
